I am new in the blogging business, the first thing I do is to post to hosted blogs, wordpress based blogs are obvious and easy choice for me, as we all know that wordpress is wonderful for automated posting, managing and much more, with the GPL liberal license make the wordpress the most famous and versatile blogging software of all time.
After a while I believed that build my own blogs will be more beneficial, because subsequently I can use my own blogs to promote my other websites, and I think its not a patentable idea, the existence of blog networks already says it all, anyway those are other people’s asset and I have no control, and I have no way to post to those blogs, obviously I will have to pay the owner to use their blogs, probably not cheap at all.
If you have tried to maintain a few different blogs you will know its not easy, if you’re not using your blogs as spamming device, to put real content on your site won’t be an easy job, remember real value is always difficult to achieve. Some blogs are quite interesting, let’s examine this one, Chain Slings, the domain name is pretty good, and it has a lot of interesting posts, though its not a theme focused blog, there are all kinds of posts on the site. Here is another one, Delicious Chinese Food, this blog is themed, all topics are about same theme, and ranks well for quite a few keywords. there are more sites like these out there, but you should already see the point. Here is one last note, you should build some casual blogs, put some random content on those blogs occasionally, such as this blog, How To Use A Ratchet Strap, your blogging network looks more natural with these casual blogs.
When you already have a few interesting blogs, you can try to build a few more, then use the established blogs to promote the new ones, this way you get your little blog network rolling. It sounds pretty simple, but to build a successful network will be much more complicated, follow the white hat tricks and ethic codes of online conduct you will be fine.
